I have known Mariah for a few years now, through my sister and she is so genuine and sweet. Lee and Mariah are such goofballs and their sense of humor kept us laughing the entire time. Lee absolutely adores Mariah and it is so evident! I cannot wait for their wedding this spring!!
These two individuals are very near and dear to my heart, my younger brother, Cory, and his fiance, Kayleigh. I can remember back to the time these two started dating. Cory had come to me and wanted to tell me all about 'this amazing girl' he had met. That was almost 5 years ago! These two have been through so much together, nothing could separate them. When I found out that my brother had proposed to Kayleigh, I knew he had found 'the one'. I can't think of a more sweet and genuine person to share life with my brother. We had the perfect afternoon in San Luis Obispo at the Johnson Ranch Trail and finished at the beach in Montana de Oro. The light was beyond dreamy, so I'll just let the photos do the rest. I love you Cory and Kayleigh and can't wait to officially welcome you to the family!
I am so thrilled with all of the positive feedback I have been receiving about my new website, brand, and even blog! You are all so sweet and that's why I love my job! :) Be sure to subscribe to my newsletter, located on the right side of my blog. (There may be a giveaway in the near future!)
A few weeks ago I was fortunate enough to head to the Santa Cruz Mountains to attend The Bloom Workshop. I knew I wanted to create a blog when I rebranded my website, but I didn't know where to start. Michaela, from Michaela Noelle Designs, and Ashley, from Ashley Slater Photography, were just what I needed to get the creative juices flowing. We covered everything from blogging to social media. To finish off the day, the two ladies had a styled shoot planned for us and walked us through some photography tips. Here are some shots from the day :)

I cannot believe how quickly time has flown. My youngest brother and his sweet girlfriend just attended their senior prom at Templeton High School. I cannot believe he is getting ready to graduate high school and start the next chapter of his life at Cal Poly. I had the pleasure of shooting some photos of these two before they headed off to dance the night away :)
I would like to welcome you to the new Kristyn Villars photography website and blog! :) This rebranding has been a long process full of excitement, sleepless nights, and so much joy. I am so excited to finally share my dreams, visions, photography, and life with all of you through this blog. It will definitely be an adventure for all of us, especially me, but I can't wait to travel this road with you. Please stay tuned as I will be updating my blog regularly with current work, inspiration, tips, and news.
I owe a huge thank you to my love, Sanden Gocka, who has guided me through this entire process and designed most of what you see here. I could not have made this possible without him!! Oh and Bristol too, who has kept my feet warm on those late nights working. She has been a huge part of this process as well :)
As you may have noticed, there are a few things different about my new brand. I went from having a black website to this new, bright, airy design. When I designed my previous website, it was all about the photography and not so much about the general appeal of everything combined. I didn't realize how much different and cleaner things could look with a white backdrop and negative space. As they say, "less is more." I have a whole new appreciation for what that quote means and how it affects photography.
